There are no restrictions on the registration of .com,
.net and .org
domains
In June 1999 "Network Solutions" lost the monopoly on .com, .net and
.org domain registration. Other registrars are now able to offer the
same service (often better) to their customers. A neutral authority (ICANN)
was created to oversee all registrar activities with the aim of providing a
set of common regulations to be adopted by all registrars. Further
